  1. 1. Guest and booking details

The lead guest provides: full name, passport or ID number (optional, if required for booking), country of residence, nationality (optional), booking reference and dates, number of adults and minors in the party, and an emergency contact name and telephone number.

  2. 2. Scope and who this document applies to

This document applies to every guest, visitor and participant using Maroela Campsite Mozambique, its accommodation, grounds, facilities and any activities organised or made available by the campsite in Bilene, Nhabanga Area, Mozambique, regardless of nationality, citizenship, country of residence or where the booking was made.

Each adult guest should read and accept this document individually where reasonably practicable. The lead guest must make sure that the other members of their booking party are informed of the campsite rules and the relevant risks. A person may not sign on behalf of another adult without lawful authority to do so.

  3. 3. Acknowledgement of risks

I understand that a campsite and outdoor recreational setting may involve risks, including uneven, slippery or sandy ground; steps, rocks, roots and other obstacles; insects, animals and plants; weather, heat, sun, wind and storms; open flames, braais and cooking equipment; use of vehicles; water, swimming or other recreational activities where available; and the actions of other guests.

I understand that these examples are not exhaustive. I will take reasonable care, follow signs and staff instructions, supervise children and dependants, and avoid activities or areas that appear unsafe or are restricted.

  4. 4. Personal responsibility and property

To the extent permitted by applicable law, I accept responsibility for my own choices and conduct while at the campsite. I will take reasonable care of my belongings, secure valuables and vehicles, and use campsite facilities only for their intended purpose. I understand that the campsite cannot guarantee that personal property will never be lost, stolen or damaged.

I will promptly report hazards, damage, accidents or unsafe conduct to campsite management. I will not deliberately damage property or put other people at unreasonable risk.

  5. 5. Children and persons requiring supervision

A parent, guardian or responsible accompanying adult must supervise children and any person who needs assistance. Children must be kept away from hazards, fires, vehicles, restricted areas and water unless properly supervised. Nothing in this document removes a duty or legal protection that applies to a child or another protected person under applicable law.

  6. 6. Medical assistance and emergencies

I will tell management about an emergency or serious hazard as soon as possible. If urgent medical help is needed, I authorise management, where reasonably necessary and practicable, to contact emergency services or the emergency contact supplied. I understand that response times and access to medical facilities in the area may vary. I remain responsible for my own medical expenses, travel insurance and personal arrangements, except to the extent applicable law provides otherwise.

  7. 7. Release and indemnity — limited by applicable law

To the extent permitted by the laws of Mozambique, I acknowledge the ordinary and inherent risks of camping and outdoor recreation and accept responsibility for loss or injury arising from my own conduct or from risks that I have knowingly and voluntarily accepted.

Nothing in this document excludes, limits or attempts to avoid any liability for negligence, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death, personal injury, breach of a legal duty, or any other matter where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited or restricted by applicable law. Nothing here removes statutory consumer rights or any other non-waivable right.

To the extent legally enforceable, I agree to be responsible for loss or damage caused by my own unlawful or negligent acts or omissions, including damage I cause to campsite property or injury I cause to another person. This is not intended to make me responsible for loss caused by the campsite where the law does not permit that result.

  8. 8. International guests and applicable law

Guests of all nationalities and countries of residence are subject to the campsite rules while on the property. This document concerns services and activities provided at Maroela Campsite Mozambique in Mozambique. It is intended to be interpreted under the laws of Mozambique, to the extent legally permissible. Any dispute will be dealt with by a court or other competent authority that has jurisdiction under applicable law.

If a guest does not understand English well enough to make an informed decision, the guest should request a Portuguese version or an explanation in a language they understand before accepting this document. The campsite should retain the version accepted by the guest.

  9. 9. Guest confirmation

By signing or accepting this document through the campsite's booking system, I confirm that I have had a reasonable opportunity to read and understand it, that I have had the opportunity to ask questions, and that the information I supplied is accurate. I understand that this document must be read together with the campsite rules and booking terms.
